Sad, Sad Day

With a very heavy heart I write this post today. My hometown of New Hartford and the neighboring town of Parkersburg were struck by a devastating tornado on Sunday, May 25th. Luckily my family was spared and they just lost a few big trees. Many family lost everything and there have been 6 deaths and over 70 injuries reported. In New Hartford the north end of town, along Beaver Valley Road, took the brunt of the storm. The damage in Parkerburg was catastrophic. Nearly half the town has been leveled along with the High School which my Mom has taught at for nearly 30 years. Only residents have been aloud back into Parkersburg and it is hard to looking at all the pictures on the news. My Mom even found a paper from her classroom in our backyard. Sean and Megan went to help out yesterday and said it was like nothing they had ever seen before. My prayers go out to all who were effected by this catastrophic event.
